Is my passport valid long enough?

Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam expect at least 6 months' validity when you arrive. The Philippines asks for 6 months after you leave, Europe and New Zealand ask for 3 months after you leave, and Japan, Korea, the UK, the US, Canada and Australia ask for validity for your whole stay.

What is the 6-month passport rule?

Some countries, such as Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore, expect your passport to have at least 6 months left on it when you arrive.

What does Europe require?

For the Schengen area, your passport should have been issued in the last 10 years and be valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave.

Can my airline ask for more?

Yes. Airlines can refuse boarding if they think you'll be refused entry, so check your airline's own rule too.
