Malaysia entry requirements

Travellers on New Zealand, Australian, US, British, Canadian, German and Japanese passports can visit Malaysia without a visa for up to 90 days. Every foreign visitor completes the free Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) within 3 days before arriving. Singapore citizens, Malaysian permanent residents and long-term pass holders are exempt.

Malaysia questions, answered

Is the MDAC free?

Yes. The official Malaysia Digital Arrival Card at imigresen-online.imi.gov.my is free. Malaysia's Immigration Department has warned travellers about fake MDAC websites.

When can I submit my MDAC?

Within 3 days before you arrive in Malaysia.

Who doesn't need an MDAC?

Singapore citizens, Malaysian permanent residents and long-term pass holders, diplomatic and official passport holders, and a few cross-border pass holders.

Do children need an MDAC?

Yes. Every foreign traveller needs their own MDAC, including children.
