NZ Traveller Declaration: who needs one and when to submit it

The short answer

Everyone arriving in New Zealand completes a New Zealand Traveller Declaration, including New Zealand citizens coming home and children. It's free online, in the NZTD app, or on paper when you land. You can submit it from 24 hours before your trip to New Zealand starts, up until you reach passport control.

Biosecurity: declare it or bin it

Declare food, plants, animal products and outdoor gear such as hiking boots and tents. Undeclared risk items can mean an instant NZ$400 fine.

If you're visiting from overseas
